Job summary

National Instruments is seeking a Classsroom Assistant with Special Educational Needs to support pupils under the direction of the class teacher and Education Authority. The role is part-time (30 hours per week) and based in Antrim/Newtownabbey, with flexible working arrangements during school holidays.

You will assist with learning activities, personal care, and inclusion in mainstream settings. Essential criteria include Level 2 qualification and experience in learning environments, alongside

Qualifications

• Essential: Level 2 qualification in a relevant area (Certificate or Diploma).
• Experience: minimum 6 weeks in learning environment or 12 months in formal learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with SEN pupil support and care in the classroom and beyond.
• Assist with access to the curriculum and personal needs including feeding and toileting as required.
• Support through the Education Plan/ Care Plan and monitor pupil participation.
• Promote inclusion and assist with behavioural management as directed.
• Maintain a safe learning environment and assist with off-site activities as needed.
