Job summary

National Instruments is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs, assisting with learning activities and personal care in and out of the classroom. You will help implement Education and Care Plans, promote inclusion, and assist with safety and everyday classroom routines.

Role involves supporting teachers, contributing to a positive learning environment, and working with pupils to access the curriculum while safeguarding and reporting concerns as required.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant area.
• Experience working with pupils in a formal learning environment or through placement.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements for schools and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the support and care of pupils with special educational needs in and outside the classroom.
• Support access to the curriculum and personal care needs as required.
• Assist with running authorised programmes (Education Plan, Care Plan) and monitor pupil progress.
• Promote inclusion and independence, assist with behavioural management and safety.
• Provide classroom and administrative support and assist with off-site activities as directed.
• Attend in-service training and support colleagues as part of the school team.
