Job summary

National Instruments is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs under the guidance of teaching staff and Education Authority. You will help with personal care, assist in implementing education plans, and promote inclusive participation within the classroom.

The role focuses on assisting in both classroom and off-site activities, ensuring safety, and facilitating learning through structured support and resources. Strong safeguarding awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of Level 2 qualification or 12 months experience in a formal learning environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety requirements and safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the educational support and care of pupil(s) with special educational needs.
• Support in delivering authorised programmes (Education Plan, Care Plan) and evaluate progress.
• Assist pupil(s) with personal needs including feeding, toileting and dressing as required.
• Promote independence and include pupil(s) in mainstream activities where appropriate.
• Supervise groups or individuals during activities and excursions.
