Responsibilities

This SEMH Teaching Assistant in Dunstable:

  • As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who may experience:
  • Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Behavioural challenges
  • Trauma‑related and attachment needs
  • Social communication and interaction difficulties

You will work closely with teachers, SEN and inclusion staff to:

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Help pupils manage emotions and behaviour positively
  • Build resilience, confidence, and self‑regulation skills
  • Encourage positive relationships with peers and adults
  • Support engagement in learning and classroom activities
  • Create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
