Job summary

Salary: £100 - £120 per day
Contract: Full Time, Temporary

GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to work in a school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is committed to supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and helping them achieve positive outcomes both academically and emotionally.

Job Summary
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH.
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and external professionals to support individual pupils.
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches to support learning and personal development.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification preferred.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or within alternative provision or SEND settings.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
