Overview
The Security Consultant specializing in Azure Cloud Security is a critical member of the Security Architecture Advisory team. This role is focused on providing expert advice and solutions to ensure the security and integrity of client cloud environments, with a deep specialization in Microsoft Azure. The consultant will work directly with clients to design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architecture, leveraging Azure's comprehensive security tools and best practices. This position requires an in-depth understanding of Azure security principles, architecture, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that clients' cloud solutions are robust, scalable, and secure.
Responsibilities
- Client Consultation and Engagement: Provide expert consultation to clients on general and Azure-specific security needs, including designing and implementing security solutions tailored to Azure cloud environments.
- Business Analysis: Work with clients to extract and document functional and non-functional requirements related to Azure cloud security, feeding into architecture and design processes.
- Security Architecture Design: Develop and implement comprehensive Azure cloud security architectures that incorporate best practices in data protection, identity management, and compliance.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct detailed risk assessments for client cloud environments, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Compliance Guidance: Assist clients in understanding and adhering to industry regulations and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS as they relate to cloud computing.
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage security projects from conception through to execution, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and client expectations are met.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and documentation outlining security recommendations, project progress, and post-implementation reviews.
- Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated on the latest cloud security trends, technologies, and regulatory changes. Participate in ongoing professional development and certification.
- No direct supervisory responsibilities but may lead project teams and mentor junior consultants.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams within the organization to integrate security into broader architectural solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security, with at least 3 years focused on Azure cloud security architecture.
- Must have valid certifications for Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate and Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate.
- Nice to have are certifications for Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure for SAP Workloads.
- Expert hands-on knowledge in Azure Cloud Security; proficient in other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
- Expert knowledge in Azure security tools and features, such as Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Azure AD, and Azure Policies.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and derive insights related to security risk.
- Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to finding and implementing solutions.
- Project Management: Experience in managing large-scale security projects, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Mostly stationary work involves significant use of computers and interactive tools.
- May involve traveling to client sites as required.
- The selected applicant will be subject to a background investigation, which will be conducted and the results of which will be used in compliance with applicable law.
