Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary SEN school in Bolton. You will work closely with a student who requires additional support due to complex needs, which may include Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This is a fantastic opportunity to help a young person re‑engage with education and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 tailored support to a pupil with complex needs, ensuring they can access learning and remain engaged.
  • Assist in delivering individualised learning activities, adapting resources to meet the pupil’s specific needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Support with personal care needs, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • Monitor and record progress, reporting observations to the class teacher and SENCO to inform planning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to provide consistent and holistic support.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN or complex needs (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Full‑time availability.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred for travel between sites).
  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
  • A proactive, patient, and resilient attitude.
