Barchester Healthcare is seeking a qualified Second Chef to lead kitchen operations and create nutritious, flavoursome menus tailored for residents. You will support the Head Chef, deliver hotel/restaurant standards, and help maintain a warm, welcoming home environment across our sites.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with residents' wellbeing.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment.
• Confidence engaging with residents to create appetising menus.
• Solid HACCP knowledge and practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Assist Head Chef in menu development.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun kitchen environment.
• Work within budget and controls.
• Complete regular audits and manage stock.
