Barchester Healthcare is seeking a qualified Second Chef to deliver hotel/restaurant standards with fresh seasonal food and no split shifts. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious menus tailored to residents’ needs.

We look for warm, motivated chefs who are driven by quality and resident well-being. Barchester pride itself on high care standards across 224 homes and hospitals in the UK.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach focused on residents' wellbeing.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm environment within the home.
• Confidence engaging with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus.
• Good understanding of HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Assist Head Chef in menu development.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Work within budget.
• Complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control.
