Barchester is seeking a qualified Second Chef to lead in the kitchen, delivering fresh, nutritious meals with hotel/restaurant standards. You will work with residents to tailor menus and maintain a warm, welcoming home environment.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with genuine interest in residents’ wellbeing.
• Holder of City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment in the home.
• Confidence engaging with residents to tailor appetising menus.
• Good understanding of HACCP.
• Willing to manage kitchen in Head Chef’s absence and assist in menu development.

Responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Assist Head Chef in menu development.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality, wholesome dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Work within budget and complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control.
