Science Teacher

Start Date: January 2026

A Good secondary school in Sunderland is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Science Teacher to join their successful Science department from January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop a passion for science, strong analytical skills, and confidence in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, with the ability to deliver one or more science specialisms at GCSE level (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support.
  • Monitor pupil progress, assess learning, and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations, ensuring they feel confident and well supported.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and continuous improvement of the Science department.
  • Support extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs, science fairs, or enrichment sessions where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3-KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (specialism welcomed).
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for inspiring students and raising achievement in Science.
