Job Title: School Science Technician - Full Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Secondary Schools across Merton
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only

Are you passionate about science and eager to play a key role in supporting students' learning and discovery? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Technician to join a network of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Merton.

As a valued member of the science department, you'll work alongside teachers to prepare engaging experiments, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe and efficient learning environment for all students. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference behind the scenes - supporting both staff and students to bring science to life in the classroom.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare, set up, and clear away laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons.
  • Support teachers in delivering practical experiments safely and effectively.
  • Maintain and organise science laboratories, equipment, and chemical stores.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory and ordering new materials when required.
What We’re Looking For
  • A strong interest in science and education.
  • Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment (school-based experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, reliable, and supportive attitude.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy school environment.
