School Office Manager - Maternity Cover (SEMH Primary School, Redbridge)

Contract: 1-year maternity cover (Term Time Only)
Start Date: January 2026
Location: Redbridge, East London
Salary: 190 - 210 per day
Hours: Full-time, office-based

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic School Office Manager to join a supportive SEMH primary school in Redbridge for a 1-year maternity cover starting in January. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll support the Head Teacher, manage HR responsibilities, and oversee the day-to-day running of the school office.

Key Responsibilities
PA Duties
  • Provide personal support to the Head Teacher, including drafting correspondence, taking minutes, and preparing reports.
  • Help manage tasks to ease the Head Teacher's workload while maintaining confidentiality.
HR Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Single Central Register and follow safer recruitment practices.
  • Manage recruitment, liaise with payroll, monitor staff absences, and maintain accurate records.
Office Management
  • Run the school office using computer systems (SIMS/FMS).
  • Ensure compliance with school admissions, employment law, equality, and health & safety requirements.
  • Liaise with the Bursar and auditors to manage finances and budgets.
  • Oversee school equipment, repairs, and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in an administrative or office management role, ideally in education.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and safer recruitment.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Confident handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in IT and office management software (SIMS and FMS).
