Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Cook to assist the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor in all activities related to meal preparation and cooking. The role involves hygienic kitchen practices, support in menu planning, stock control, and supervision of staff within the catering unit.

You will contribute to efficient service, supervise colleagues, and help promote the catering service to parents and customers while adhering to relevant regulations and school values.

Qualifications

• Evidence of ability to communicate effectively with others and customers.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration within a catering setting.
• Good organisational and planning skills, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of meals and menus.
• Ensure hygiene and safety in the kitchen, record temperatures.
• Supervise staff and assist in stock-taking and stores management.
• Handle basic cash/point-of-sale duties where appropriate.
• Promote the service to parents, principals and customers.
