Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Cook to assist the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor in preparing and cooking meals in a busy school kitchen. The role emphasises teamwork, hygiene, portion control and delivering a hygienic service to students.

You will contribute to menu planning, stock checks, and training of staff, while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. A positive approach to customer service and involvement in promoting the service to parents and customers

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1 & 706-2 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals.
• Maintain hygiene and safety in the kitchen, including temperature recording.
• Assist with stock control, meal planning, and service points.
• Support supervision of other staff and general kitchen duties.
