Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Cook to assist the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor in the preparation and cooking of meals. You will participate in a hygienic service, support staff, and help promote the meal service to parents and customers.

The role requires carrying out kitchen duties, assisting with menu planning, stock-taking and general kitchen management, while upholding safety and regulatory standards. Training and development are encouraged within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1/706-2 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of HACCP.
• Willingness to undertake job related training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of meals and cooking for a full range of meals.
• Record keeping and hygiene/health and safety in the kitchen.
• Direction and shared supervision of other staff and operational control of service points.
• Stock-taking, planning of meals, stores/fridges, deliveries and general kitchen management.
• Assist in promoting the service to parents, principals and customers.
• Duties as delegated and securing premises as required.
