Job summary

A local recruitment agency is seeking a Caretaker for a school in Ingrow, England. Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out daily maintenance tasks and minor repairs around the school site
  • Ensure the school premises are safe, secure, and well presented
  • Open and / or close the school buildings as required
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas, pathways, and communal spaces
  • Assist with moving furniture, setting up rooms, and supporting school events
  • Conduct routine checks on heating, lighting, and alarm systems
  • Report maintenance issues promptly and liaise with external contractors when needed
  • Support the Site Manager with general caretaking duties as required
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, or in a maintenance / handyperson role
  • Good practical skills for minor repairs and general upkeep
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive approach to work
