An educational staffing agency in London is seeking a part-time School Business Manager to manage key operational and financial functions at a vibrant primary school. The ideal candidate should have experience in finance and operations, specifically within an educational setting. Responsibilities include budget management, HR administration, and compliance oversight. Protocol Education is working with a vibrant, diverse and nurturing school in the heart of Ealing, committed to providing the best possible opportunities for our children, families and staff. We are seeking an experienced and highly organised School Business Manager to join our supportive team and lead key operational and financial functions across the school.
Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of:
Finance: budget planning, monitoring and reporting, ensuring value for money and compliance with financial regulations.
HR Administration: safer recruitment, onboarding, personnel records, payroll liaison and supporting staffing processes.
Premises & Health and Safety: oversight of the school site, contractors, maintenance schedules and statutory compliance.
Administration & Operations: supporting office staff to deliver efficient systems, processes and communication.
Procurement & Contracts: managing suppliers, contracts and service-level agreements.
Has experience working as a School Business Manager or in a similar finance/operations leadership role (preferably in an education setting).
Can confidently manage budgets and financial processes.
Understands HR, safeguarding, recruitment and compliance requirements for schools.
Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Can prioritise effectively and work independently across a varied workload.
Is committed to the values and ethos of a warm, inclusive primary school.
