Queen Square Medical Practice is a friendly and dynamic GP surgery dedicated to providing high-quality patient care. We are looking for an efficient and detail-oriented Scanning and Coding Data Clerk to join our administrative team for 30 hours a week Monday-Friday.
The Scanning and Coding Data Clerk is responsible for processing patient records, ensuring documents are accurately scanned, coded, and assigned within our clinical system (EMIS). This role is essential in maintaining accurate patient data and supporting the smooth running of the practice.
Scan and upload patient-related documents into the clinical system Accurately code clinical data using Read/SNOMED codes using better letter Ensure patient records are maintained and updated in a timely manner Work closely with the administration and clinical teams to process incoming correspondence Handle confidential information in line with GDPR and practice policies Identify and flag any discrepancies or missing information
Queen Square Medical Practice is a busy independent GP Practice based in Lancaster with a patient list of 16000. We have 8 GP partners and 5 Associate GP's who are supported by ANP's, paramedics, Pharmacists, Nurses, HCA's & Admin team. You will report to the Practice Manager/Practice Director.
To be responsible for obtaining paper correspondence {post} from the hospital and electronic correspondence from where it is held.
To be responsible for all aspects of inserting correspondence into the electronic patient record {paper or electronic}
To be responsible for using the relevant software to workflow correspondence to the appropriate team member
To be responsible for all aspects of Read Coding/SNOMED history entries and entering other data into the specified electronic patient record in accordance with the guidelines specified by the partners.
To be aware of Quality & Outcome Framework Targets and Enhanced Services to ensure all relevant data is recorded in the correct area of the patient record to ensure targets are met.
To prioritise your workload and manage your time efficiently so timescales and deadlines are met.
