Job description

Salon apprentice required. Gain first-hand experience working in a Superbrand salon. Full training will be provided leading to an accredited Hair Professional qualification which will be delivered in the salon.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to legal and organisational requirements for the safe use of products, tools, materials and equipment.
  • Apply safe, hygienic, and effective methods of working and infection control while completing hairdressing services.
  • Use communication and etiquette that meets industry requirements and suits the organisation.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comfort (modesty, privacy) at all stages of service.
  • Advise clients pre‑, during‑ and post‑service on maintenance, complementary services and retail products available in the salon.
  • Promote the organisation, products and services via a variety of social privileged channels.
  • Carry out wider salon duties to support the business: services, bookings, payments, retail, upselling and sales.
  • Use a range of products, tools and equipment in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
  • Complete and maintain client records in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
  • Work as part of a team to support the salon business.
  • Use working methods that promote environmental and sustainable practices.
  • Conduct a consultation, examine and analyse hair, skin and scalp and complete relevant industry tests.
  • Identify any contraindications or limiting factors that may influence the service.

  • Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp.
  • Dry and finish hair using techniques to create the intended shape, direction, balance and volume.
  • Apply setting and dressing techniques to achieve the desired look.
  • Cut hair using a variety of techniques: club cutting, scissor over comb, clipper over comb, texturising, freehand, thinning, layering and razor cutting.
  • Restyle hair for a personalised short or medium lengthಿವುcut using a range of cutting techniques publier
  • Complete hair colouring and lightening services using current techniques: freehand, woven highlights, lowlights, root retouch, partial or full head dáv yopp.
  • Evaluate the results of the service.

Apprenticeship Details
  • Starting salary: £15,704 per year (may increase depending on age).

  • Duration: 2 years.
