Job description

We are recruiting for an exceptional Sales Director to lead a high-performing senior sales leadership team within a market leader. This Sales Director role is a true manager-of-managers position, requiring gravitas, strategic capability, and the confidence to develop highly accomplished Regional Area Managers, each of whom leads a high-performing field-based team.

The teams you will oversee are based across the southern half of the UK, so the ideal Sales Director will be located in the Midlands or South to effectively support, coach and travel across the region. These teams sell consultatively, using data, insight and narrative to demonstrate value, so your ability to elevate this approach is essential.

The Role

As the Sales Director, you will mentor and develop a group of high-performing Regional Area Managers, each responsible for a region of commercially strong Account Managers who use insight, data and value-led storytelling to help customers make informed decisions. Your leadership will drive continued growth and ensure high performance across all southern territories.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach and develop Regional Area Managers to build high-performing regional teams.
  • Apply structured coaching methods - experience with the GROW model is a strong advantage.
  • Embed data-led, insight-driven selling across senior leaders and their teams.
  • Drive regional performance against KPIs, revenue targets and account strategies.
  • Oversee forecasting, planning, reporting and long-term leadership development.
  • Lead succession planning, recruitment and resource allocation across the southern region.
  • Build credibility with customers at senior level, acting as a trusted point of escalation.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure national commercial plans are executed consistently.
About You
  • Significant senior-level B2B sales leadership experience.
  • Proven experience managing managers in a high-performance, multi-region environment.
  • Gravitas and presence when coaching senior leaders.
  • Familiarity with the GROW coaching methodology or similar structured frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data-driven, consultative and narrative-led sales.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ideally based from the Midlands downwards to effectively manage the southern team.
Salary & Benefits
  • Up to £120,000 basic salary
  • £15,000 OTE (capped)
  • Company car suitable for a senior leadership role
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Private medical insurance
  • Share save scheme
  • Pension scheme and life assurance
  • Hybrid working pattern
  • Retail, lifestyle and travel benefits
  • Supportive, people-focused culture with real progression opportunities
