Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a Sales Assistant/Delivery Driver for Leicester. You will deliver plumbing/heating supplies, assist customers on the trade counter, and handle inquiries by phone and email. A full UK driving licence is essential, with a willingness to learn and perform warehouse tasks as needed.

The role is based in a brand new Leicester branch, offering a 40-hour week with some rota Saturdays and strong benefits beyond salary.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• Previous face-to-face customer service experience is essential.
• Proficient computer skills to assist customers and process orders.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and adapt to a diverse role.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.

Responsibilities

• Driving a van to deliver plumbing and heating supplies to customers in the local area.
• Serving customers on the trade counter with product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales.
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking and packing orders.
• Maintaining high standards in the branch.

As a Sales Assistant/Delivery Driver based ina brand new branch in Leicester you’ll be responsible for:

• Driving a van delivering plumbing and heating supplies to our customers in the local area.
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales particularly focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which will involve manual handling of heavy items boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday between - and Saturdays on a rota basis -

• Prior industry experience would be advantageous
• Previous Face to Face customer service is essential
• Prior warehouse experience would be ideal
