Job summary

Plumb Centre in High Wycombe is seeking a Sales Assistant to support customers on the trade counter, advise on plumbing & heating products, and assist with stock and deliveries. This full-time role offers a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional Saturday mornings.

Based at the High Wycombe branch, you will respond to inquiries, build relationships with customers, and help drive branch sales with a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Face to face sales experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Team player with willingness to help across the branch.
• Good communication with customers and colleagues.
• Driving licence highly desirable for delivering to customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter with product knowledge and recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Make outbound calls to past customers to win business.
• Identify sales opportunities and drive branch performance.
• Assist with stock intake, packing, and light warehouse duties including manual handling.
• Deliver goods by driving a 3.5t van to local customers.

As a Sales Assistant based in our High Wycombe branch, you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets
• Driving a 3.5t van making deliveries to our customers in the local area

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings on a 1 in 4 or 5 rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
