Job summary

Plumb Centre in Norwich, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a Sales Assistant to support customers at the trade counter with product recommendations. You will respond to inquiries by phone and email and make outbound calls to re-engage previous customers.

Additionally, you will identify opportunities to drive sales within the branch and perform warehouse tasks, including stock handling and order picking, on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday with alternating Saturdays.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Norwich branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations.


• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.


• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business.


• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.


• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:30am - 16:30pm and every other Saturday mornings on a rota basis -

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.


• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience.


• Warehouse experience.


• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service.


• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch.


• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.


• To be comfortable lifting heavy items.
