Job summary

Plumb Centre in High Wycombe is seeking a Sales Assistant to support trade customers at the branch. You will handle counter sales, respond to inquiries, and contact former customers to win business, while helping with warehouse tasks and local deliveries.

The role requires a customer-focused mindset, practical plumbing knowledge is a plus, and a valid driving licence is highly desirable. Flexible, team-oriented, and eager to learn, you’ll contribute to a busy branch environment.

Qualifications

• Driving Licence is highly desirable.
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience.
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing advice and product recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.
• Perform general warehouse duties including booking incoming stock, putting stock away, and picking/packing orders (heavy stock such as boilers, radiators, sinks, toilets).
• Drive a 3.5t van to deliver to customers in the local area.

As a Sales Assistant based in our High Wycombe branch, you'll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets
• Driving a 3.5t van making deliveries to our customers in the local area

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings on a 1 in 4 or 5 rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
