Job summary

Wolseley UK Limited, a Plumb Centre branch in Bolton, is hiring a Sales Assistant. You will serve trade customers, answer inquiries, and drive sales from the branch while performing warehouse duties and local deliveries by van. 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday mornings.

Experience in face-to-face sales and plumbing knowledge is valued; driving license is beneficial. A proactive team player with good customer service is ideal for this role.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the trade counter with advice and product recommendations.

• Identify opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• Carry out warehouse duties: stock intake, put away, pick and pack orders.
• Deliver to customers locally using a 3.5T van.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Bolton branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers local to the branch

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm with the occasional Saturday morning 08.00am - 12.00pm.
