Job summary

Plumb Centre in Bishops Stortford is seeking a Sales Assistant to help customers at the trade counter, advise on products and secure sales while delivering outstanding service.

You will handle enquiries by phone and email, make outbound calls to previous customers, support branch operations, and manage warehouse tasks with heavy stock like boilers, radiators, and toilets. The role runs 40 hours weekly, Mon-Fri 7.00–5.00, with up to two Saturday mornings per month.

Qualifications

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience.
• Warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter with product recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly.
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain business.
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities within the branch.
• Handle warehouse duties including stock booking, picking and packing.

Job description

As a Sales Assistant based in our Bishops Stortford branch you'll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal

Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience

Warehouse experience
