Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of Wolseley Group, is hiring a Sales Assistant at the Norwich branch. You’ll advise trade customers at the counter, handle inquiries by phone and email, and help drive branch sales.

This full-time role runs 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday 7:30-16:30 with every other Saturday morning rota, and offers annual leave, a strong pension, bonuses, and wellbeing perks. Plumbing & Heating knowledge and a proactive, team-first attitude are encouraged, along with the ability to lift

• Plumbing & heating knowledge is ideal.
• Previous face-to-face sales and customer service experience.
• Warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing advice and product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously.
• Making outbound calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging new and existing customers.
• General warehouse duties including stock booking, put-away, and picking/packing orders (heavy stock).

As a Sales Assistant based in our Norwich branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:30am - 16:30pm and every other Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
