Job summary

Plumb Centre Finchley, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Sales Assistant to support customers at the trade counter with expert product advice and service.

You will handle inquiries by phone and email, identify sales opportunities, and assist with warehouse tasks while handling heavy stock. This is a full-time role, 40 hours weekly, with alternating Saturday mornings.

Qualifications

• Face-to-face sales and customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player who can assist in all areas of the branch.
• Willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
• Experience with heavy stock handling and warehouse tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the trade counter with product advice and recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain business.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• Assist with warehouse duties including stock bookings, picking and packing.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

Employment Details

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and alternate Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.00pm.
