Job summary

Plumb Centre in Peterborough is hiring a Sales Assistant to help customers at the trade counter, understand their needs, and recommend products. You will also handle inquiries by phone and email, build relationships with customers and suppliers, and contribute to branch growth.

The role includes warehouse duties, occasional 3.5t van relief driving, and a 40-hour week from Monday to Friday with Saturday hours as overtime. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in sales and customer service.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence speaking with customers.
• Understanding of plumbing and heating would be beneficial.
• Full UK Manual Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Dealing with customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Providing excellent service, establishing strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
• Proactively seeking opportunities to grow sales within the branch, working with both existing and new customers.
• Completing general warehouse duties, including picking and packing orders and organising deliveries and merchandising displays.

As a Sales Assistant based in Peterborough, you’ll be responsible for:

• Assisting customers at the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
• Dealing with customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Providing excellent service, establishing strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers
• Proactively seeking opportunities to grow sales within the branch, working with both existing and new customers
• Completing general warehouse duties, including picking and packing orders (which will involve some heavy lifting), organising deliveries and merchandising displays to a high standard
• Relief driving 3.5t van for holiday cover, delivering customer orders.

This is a Full Time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:00am- 17:00pm. Saturday working when required 8am to 12pm, paid as overtime.
