Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is recruiting a Sales Assistant in Bolton (BL2 1EH). You will advise customers at the trade counter, respond to enquiries, and drive sales while supporting warehouse duties. A driving licence is beneficial and plumbing knowledge is a plus.

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with occasional Saturday mornings; includes a 3.5T van for local deliveries and contributes to a friendly, customer-focused team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter with advice and product recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Make outbound calls to regain business from previous customers.
• Identify opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• Perform general warehouse duties including stock input, packing and handling heavy items.
• Drive a 3.5T automatic van to deliver to local customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers local to the branch

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm with the occasional Saturday morning 08.00am - 12.00pm.
