Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Part Time Sales Assistant in Plymouth (PL7 1SR) for a fixed term until July 2027. The role involves handling customer inquiries, advising on products, and outbound follow-ups, with some warehouse duties.

30 hours weekly, Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00, plus some Saturdays. Salary is £20,021 plus bonuses and a range of benefits including annual leave, a matched pension, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience is essential.
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations.
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.
• General warehouse duties including picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.

As a Part Time Sales Assistant based in our Plymouth branch, you’ll be responsible for:

This is a Part Time Fixed Term Contract until July 2027 working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.00pm.
