Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is recruiting a Sales Assistant for Bishops Stortford. You will help customers at the trade counter with advice and product recommendations, respond to enquiries by phone and email, and pursue sales opportunities while performing light warehouse duties.

The role is full-time at 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with up to two Saturday mornings a month. Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal and a friendly, proactive attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience.
• Warehouse experience.
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

As a Sales Assistant based in our Bishops Stortford branch you’ll be responsible for:

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between - and a maximum of 2 Saturday mornings a month -
