Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a Sales Assistant for the Bolton branch (BL2 1EH). You will serve customers at the trade counter, advise on products and handle enquiries.

This is a full-time role, 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00 with occasional Saturday mornings 08:00–12:00. You’ll support branch operations and deliveries from Bolton.

Qualifications

• Driving licence preferred.
• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience.
• Warehouse experience.
• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Team player willing to help in all areas.
• Eagerness to learn with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter with advice and product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries by phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Making outbound calls to previous customers to regain business.
• Identifying opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• General warehouse duties including stock control, picking and packing orders.
• Delivering to customers local to the branch in a 3.5T van.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Bolton branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations


• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude


• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business


• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers


• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets


• Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers local to the branch

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm with the occasional Saturday morning 08.00am - 12.00pm.
