Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a Sales Assistant in Newmarket to support trade customers and drive branch sales. The role involves advising customers, processing queries by phone and email, and following up with previous customers to secure orders.

This full-time post offers a 40-hour week with early finishes, a 9% pension match, annual leave accrual, and bonus opportunities. Benefits include healthcare and staff discounts through Wolseley’s benefits program.

Qualifications

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal.
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers.
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and Saturday mornings on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
