Job summary

Plumb Centre Walton-on-Thames is seeking a Sales Assistant to serve customers on the trade counter and recommend products to meet their needs. You will respond to inquiries by phone and email, build relationships to drive branch sales, and assist with warehouse duties when needed.

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with regular hours Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays. Prior trade experience is advantageous; strong customer service and a proactive attitude are essential.

• Prior industry or trade experience is advantageous.
• Previous face-to-face customer service/sales experience is essential.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and take on a diverse role.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and recommending products.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales.
• Assisting with warehouse duties including picking/packing and stock handling.
• Maintaining high standards in the branch.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales particularly focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which will involve manual handling of heavy items e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch

Requirements

• Prior industry or trade experience is advantageous
• Previous Face to Face customer service/sales experience is essential
• Willingness to work as a part of a team and to take on a diverse role
• Proactive and eager to learn, demonstrating a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Contract

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday between 08.30am - 5.00pm and the occasional Saturday 08.00am - 12.00pm.
