Job summary

Plumb Centre in Blackpool is seeking a Sales Assistant to advise customers at the trade counter and support sales growth. You will handle enquiries by phone and email, pursue new and existing customers, and contribute to smooth branch operations.

The role includes warehouse duties and relief driving within a 20-mile radius. A valid driving licence is essential, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and teamwork.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Blackpool branch you’ll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
• Relief Driver - Driving a 3.5T automatic van making deliveries to customers within a 20 mile radius of the branch

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.00am - 5.00pm.

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience
• Warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
• To be comfortable lifting heavy items
