Job summary

Plumb Centre in Bognor Regis is seeking a Sales Assistant to help customers at the trade counter, understand their needs, and offer product recommendations to drive branch sales.

This fixed-term contract until March 2027 is 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 07:30–17:00) with a salary of £26,695 plus bonus and a strong benefits package including pension, healthcare access, cycle-to-work and staff discounts.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter with advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries by phone and email promptly

• Carrying out general warehouse duties and packing orders including heavy items

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

Qualifications & Requirements

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience
• Warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic

This is a Fixed Term Contract until March 2027 working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm.
