Job summary

Plumb Centre in Kidderminster is hiring a Sales Assistant to help customers at the trade counter with expert product advice. You will also handle phone and email inquiries, and actively pursue opportunities to boost branch sales. The role includes light warehouse duties and ensuring timely stock handling.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a schedule that includes some Saturdays. Plumbing knowledge and prior face-to-face sales experience are preferred, and a supportive pension

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter with product recommendations and advice.

• Identify and pursue opportunities to drive sales within the branch.
• Carry out general warehouse duties including stock checks and order picking/packing.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing advice and product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Making outbound phone calls to previous customers to regain their business
• Actively identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging both new and existing customers
• General warehouse duties including booking incoming stock onto the system and putting it away and picking and packing customer orders which will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets

This is a full time time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07.30am - 4.30pm and alternate Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.00pm.

Requirements

• Plumbing & Heating knowledge is ideal
• Previous Face to Face sales and customer service experience
• Warehouse experience
• The ability to deliver outstanding customer service
• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch
• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
