Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: OXFAM IRELAND ENNISKILLEN. Working under the direction of the Shop Manager, the Sales Assistant will have the opportunity to learn key skills within the retail environment. Over time, you will assist with the effective running of the store, by carrying out assigned daily tasks, including sales, merchandising, window displays and the daily maintenance of the store ensuring the highest standards of housekeeping and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the shop manager to maximise profitability by actively encouraging customers to visit the store and purchase merchandise.
  • Work towards achieving targets and hitting monthly budgets.
  • Ability to resolve customer service issues.
  • Carry out visual merchandising.
  • Maintain inventory control.
  • Maintain a fun, professional and friendly environment with staff, customers and volunteers.
  • Complete paperwork and banking procedures accurately.
  • Work in a safe way, observing all health and safety guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Some experience in a customer facing environment.
  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Experience working as part of a diverse team and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and lead on occasion.
  • Lifting hessian bags, boxes, books and other items is a requirement of this role, so applicants should be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the role.

The Employer is: OXFAM IRELAND ENNISKILLEN. JobStart Opportunity – Working Hours Information – Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: may be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
