Hybrid: No, the role is office based if not out with customers

Salary: Basic c 75,000‑80,000 plus car/bonus

Commercial Sales Director

This is a key role that will form part of the Senior Leadership Team alongside the CEO, Finance Director and HR Director at the Sheffield facility.

About the role
  • Develop and execute a robust commercial strategy focused on international market expansion to include pricing strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with the after-market Wholesaler Distributors, via key accounts across UK & Northern and Eastern Europe, through customer own branding or via Company’s own brand
  • Lead and grow the sales team, with a focus on domestic and export market development and channel management
  • Identify and penetrate new geographic markets, distributors, and OEM partnerships
  • Collaborate with design, engineering and production teams to align product offerings with market needs
  • Oversee budget preparation, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and margin optimisation
  • Represent the Company at international trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events
  • Monitor global market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory environments
  • Implement and manage CRM systems in line with the Company’s IT Strategy to track pipeline, performance, and customer engagement
  • Report regularly to the CEO and Board on commercial performance and strategic initiatives
About You
  • Proven experience in senior sales leadership roles within technical engineering or manufacturing sectors
  • Proven track record in developing and growing export markets, ideally in agricultural or industrial products
  • Strong understanding of international trade, logistics and compliance
  • Experience working with OEMs, distributors, and direct B2B sales channels
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Business or related field preferred
  • Language skills are beneficial, particularly German or French
  • Demonstrable experience in picking up new sector dynamics, product technical knowledge and terminology
  • A natural relationship builder
  • People management skills, able to lead and develop teams of internal and external sales people
  • Experience of managing / overseeing supply‑chain contracts preferred
  • Live within a reasonable commuting distance and able to travel to Sheffield when not out with customers
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Has the right to work in the UK without restriction or the need for sponsorship or visa support
  • Any experience of customer‑led product design and development would be a bonus
