Job description
Salaried GP with a view to Partnership. Park Medical Centre, Southwark

We are a small practice with a population of over 6000 patients and pride ourselves maintaining the traditional family doctor values and knowing our patients well whilst being forward looking and innovative.

We are looking for an experienced GP, team orientated, enthusiastic and motivated to offer the best possible care to patients in our well-established practice. We would be happy to have a conversation whether you are seeking a Salaried GP post with the aim to a partnership in the near future, or ready to join as a partner.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would be working 5 to 8 sessions a week, we are flexible on full or half days.

Routine appointments are mainly face to face with occasional telephone appointments, usually 12 patients per session.

The job plan includes the usual admin tasks, such as correspondence via Docman, dealing with lab results and regular prescriptions.

As our ANP and our PA have a schedule of proactive home visits to our housebound patients, we have a low rate of GP Home visits, which are mainly for acute presentations during duty slots.

Clinicians have the possibility to attend our weekly multidisciplinary clinical meetings and a monthly afternoon of Practice Learning Time.

About us

We are a 6000 patient training practice, based on one site. We are a highly valued and local patient focused team.

We are set in a rapidly developing area of South East London. The practice is in Zone - a 3 minute walk from Surrey Quays Overground Station, 11 minute walk from Canada Water Jubilee Line station and with nearby shopping centre. Southwark Park on the doorstep of the practice!

Our practice is dynamic and evolving - it was single handed for several years before becoming a three partner practice in 2020. The three partners are two GPs and 1 ANP. We are friendly, approachable and supportive.

Our very dedicated and capable team includes two other salaried GPs , a GP retainer, one Physician Associate, a part time Pharmacist, a GP trainee, a Practice Nurse and a Health Care Assistant. We have an excellent Administrative team - Secretary, Coding & Admin team with dedicated receptionists.

We have Social Prescribers, Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners , Paediatricians and Pharmacists who also work on site as part of our PCN provision.

We use Emis web, Docman 10, T-Quest, Accurx and DXS referral forms.

We are always keen to explore and improve in order to offer the best possible care. We have a gardening group and in the recent past we organised successful mindfulness breathing workshops for patients and staff. We are also part of the the RCGP national virology survey.
