A supportive inner city GP training practice in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Salaried General Practitioner (GP) for a fixed term role of 9 months, with potential for a longer term position. We are pleased to offer a rare and exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our busy, supportive inner city GP training practice. This is a fixed term post for 9 months initially, created due to the short notice emigration of a valued salaried GP, with a clear view to a longer term and more substantive role for the right candidate.
This role offers 6-8 sessions per week with an anticipated start date of February 2026. You will be joining a stable, well established practice where patient care, teamwork, and staff wellbeing genuinely matter. With capped workload arrangements, strong multidisciplinary support, and no regular routine home visits, this is a role designed to be both professionally fulfilling and sustainable.

The post holder will provide high quality, patient centred general medical services to a diverse inner city population. Clinical work will include a mix of telephone and face to face consultations, with standard 10 minute appointments and 20 minute appointments where interpreters are required.
You will assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute and long term conditions, supporting continuity of care and appropriate follow up. You will work closely with a well established multidisciplinary team including pharmacists, advanced nurse practitioners, mental health practitioners, physician associate, GP assistants and social prescribers, with clear pathways for shared care and support.
Senior, experienced GPs are available in person every day to provide advice, support, and supervision as needed. Medicine management workload and document processing are capped for salaried GPs to ensure safe and manageable working.
Home visits are very rare due to a commissioned visiting service and would only be expected in exceptional circumstances, such as for patients receiving palliative care. The role also includes participation in clinical meetings, learning activities, and ongoing learning and development.

Job Description: Salaried General Practitioner (GP) atNew Collegiate Medical Centre
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Salaried General Practitioner(GP) to join our well-established and thriving general practice in the United Kingdom.As a Salaried GP, you will play a crucial role in providing high-qualityprimary healthcare services to our patients. Your responsibilities will includediagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, managing chronicdiseases, and offering preventative care. You will work collaboratively withour multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to ourdiverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
1.Provide comprehensive medical care to patientswithin the general practice, including consultations, physical examinations,and diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses.
2.Maintain accurate and up-to-date medicalrecords, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protectionregulations.
3.Develop and implement personalized care plansfor patients, taking into consideration their medical history, lifestyle, andpreferences.
4.Manage a varied caseload, including complex andlong-term conditions, and coordinate with specialists and other healthcareprofessionals as needed.
5.Promote health education and preventive measuresto patients, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding theirhealthcare.
6.Collaborate with the practice team, includingnurses, physicians associates, pharmacists, and administrative staff, andtraining GPs to ensure efficient and coordinated care delivery.
7.Referrals should be completed on a daily basisin line with practice policy.
8.Investigations should be completed andassociated documentation dealt with within appropriate timescales.
9.Results are normally communicated eitherelectronically or by letter via Docman, you will be expected to action these ona daily basis.
10.Reports: You will be expected to completereports expected under the GMS contract. Additionally you may be expected tocomplete reports requested by other parties such as insurance companies. Anynon-NHS reports fees are retained by New Collegiate Medical Centre Partnership.

12.Participate in practice meetings, casediscussions, and continuous professional development activities to enhance yourclinical knowledge and skills and ensure all mandatory training completedincluding your responsibilities for Level 3 Safeguarding Adults & Children.
13.Contribute to the development and implementationof clinical protocols and guidelines within the practice.
14.Adhere to the National Health Service (NHS) andpractice policies and procedures, including clinical governance and qualityimprovement initiatives.
15.Maintain your professional registration andparticipate in the appraisal and revalidation processes as required by theGeneral Medical Council (GMC).
16.Foster a positive and supportive workingenvironment, promoting teamwork and collaboration among colleagues.
Requirements:
1.Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) and fullregistration with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK.
2.Membership of the Royal College of GeneralPractitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent qualification.
3.Full indemnity cover (provided for by thepractice for sessions covered in house)
4.Proven experience working as a GeneralPractitioner, ideally within a primary care setting in the UK.
5.Excellent diagnostic and clinicaldecision-making skills.
6.Strong communication and interpersonal skills,with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
7.Ability to work effectively as part of amultidisciplinary team and engage in shared decision-making.
8.Proficient in the use of electronic medicalrecords systems and other healthcare technologies.
9.Commitment to continuous professionaldevelopment and keeping up-to-date with the latest medical advancements.
10.Understanding of and adherence to professionalethics, clinical governance, and regulatory requirements.
