Job summary

A reputable medical practice in Lancaster is looking for a committed GP to join their supportive team. Qualifications

  • Must be a member of a recognised defence union.

Queen Square Medical Practice,based in the heart of historic Lancaster, is looking for an enthusiastic,caring, and committed GP to join our well-established, forward-thinking, andsupportive team.

We are offering a permanent salaried GP role(4 - 8 sessions per week) in a city centre practice with an outstandingreputation for patient-centred care

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of our team, you will:

  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Perform health checks, screenings, and preventative care
  • Prescribe and manage treatment plans
  • Provide health education and lifestyle support
  • Coordinate with specialists and community teams
  • Participate in quality improvement and audits
  • Manage emergencies within a primary care setting

Job responsibilities
  • Face-to-face and telephone consultations
  • Home visits (as required)
  • Checking/signing repeat prescriptions and responding to patient queries
  • Health needs assessments, counselling, and health education
  • Accurate, contemporaneous medical record-keeping
  • Prescribing in line with the practice formulary
  • Working collaboratively across a multidisciplinary team
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration
  • Current membership of a recognised defence union (MPS/MDU)
  • On the Performers List (with no detrimental removal)
  • Experience with EMIS Web
  • Previous experience in a training practice
