Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician in the UK, based in the Portsmouth cluster with coverage across nearby areas. You will diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and provide emergency breakdown support, starting and finishing work from your home driveway. A full UK driving licence with <6 points is required, and a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience qualifies you for this role.

You'll receive a market-competitive base salary (£36,400) with a realistic OTE of about £60,000, plus bonuses and overtime. RAC provides a van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls and deliver quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road
