Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician. You will diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside and provide emergency breakdown support across the UK, starting and ending at home with a RAC van, fuel card, and all necessary tools. A base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £60,000 is offered, with overtime opportunities and market-competitive benefits.

We expect 2+ years in light vehicle maintenance and a Level 2 NVQ, plus a full UK driving licence with <6 points. This is a field-based role requiring flexible shifts and customer‑facing service at the roadside.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver roadside repairs, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
