Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and support members in breakdown situations across the UK. The role requires a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years’ experience with a full UK driving licence.

You’ll start and finish from home, with a RAC van and full tools provided. You’ll join a history of over 125 years of service, with ongoing technical development and a clear progression

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience.
• Alternatively 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic plus full UK driving licence.
• Proven ability to perform mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Work calmly and confidently under pressure while delivering member service.
