Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform on‑the‑spot mechanical repairs and diagnostics for members within the Portsmouth cluster and surrounding areas. You will start and finish at home, with a RAC van and full tools provided, and cover local territories to get members back on the road quickly.

The role requires a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years in a similar role, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Customers require quick, safe roadside repairs and diagnostics.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Work from home base and travel within local cluster to service members.
