Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician in the Portsmouth cluster to keep members moving. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs and provide emergency breakdown support across the UK, starting and finishing from your home driveway.

With a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, plus a full UK driving licence, you’ll join a trusted team and enjoy a market‑competitive base salary of £36,400 with an OTE around £60,000 and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Deliver emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Perform fault finding and quick, confident solutions.
• Start and finish days at home with provided RAC van and tools.
