Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join its Patrol division. You’ll perform diagnostics and roadside repairs, from flat batteries to complex faults, delivering fast, confident service.

You’ll start and finish at home, work demand-led shifts averaging around 40 hours a week, with optional overtime. With a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, you’ll be equipped with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic (alternative).
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and breakdown support across the UK.
• Manage fault diagnostics, tyre changes, battery issues, and quick, confident solutions.
• Provide exceptional member service while on roadside calls.
